What makes Rutledge Properties stand out from other real estate firms

Ever notice how the large corporate firms advertise their listings in the newspapers?  THEY ROTATE THEIR ADS!! What does this mean?  It means that they only advertise each of their listings once or twice a month because there is an over-abundance of agents vying for print ad space.

Here at Rutledge Properties, we advertise ALL our active listings consistently until an offer is accepted and the house is under agreement.  We can do this because we are purposefully an office made up of only 22 select "Cream of the Crop" Realtors.  We meet the advertising needs of both our Sellers and our Agents and we deliver results!

If you have any questions about how we at Rutledge stand out and can help you sell your home, don't hesitate to call me, Marcie Pucker, direct at 781-710-1741. You can visit my website as well.

New smoke detector/carbon monoxide laws you need to be aware of

Throughout this past 2010 Spring/Summer market, I noticed that several of my sales customers were having difficulty getting a smoke detector/carbon monoxide Certificate of Compliance by the local Weston and Wellesley Town Fire departments. This compliance is necessary for any MA residential property sale to close, and I noticed that the inspections were getting more stringent, and houses were not passing as easily as they had in the past.

Here's why: As of April 5, 2010, new regulations relating to the required detectors, as well as their technology, installation and maintenance were issued in order to further protect families from the dangers of home fires/smoke inhalation and carbon monoxide poisoning.  As technology has become more advanced, the laws have become stricter.  Here is a link to the Massachusetts Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detector Laws.  If you are selling your home, you should become knowledgeable about these laws.  If you need any further information or advice about these laws, don't hesitate to give our office a call at 781-235-4663, as I would love to explain it further to you and answer any questions about the house selling process!
