The old Wellesley High School may be gone, but the memories live on

The 1938 Gamaliel Bradford Senior High School has been torn down, but it lives on through the magic of YouTube.

Click on this link to take a fascinating 22 minute tour of the building and learn about the Wellesley resident, then a 33 year-old unknown architect, who became famous through his breaking with tradition on the design of the school.

Learn about all the different elements of the design with its potpourri of styles coupled with the architect's desire to make the building feel like home to Wellesley students.

There's even something the architect added to the school just for the fun of it!

Because of this well-done video, the 1938 building will live on even as the new building takes its place.

Thanks to the Wellesley Historical Commission, The Wellesley High School Permanent Building Committee, The Wellesley School Committee, The Massachusetts Historical Commission and The Massachusetts School Building Authority for commissioning the film.

Thanks to the Wellesley Patch for posting it. Enjoy the tour!
